The Boise Fire Department will conduct a fire training exercise on June 9th, 2011 in your neighborhood. Anyone is welcome to observe.
What is a Fire Training Exercise?
It’s rare and welcome opportunity for firefighters to train using an actual structure fire. The fire will be closely monitored for safety. This opportunity provides your firefighters with realistic fire training that cannot be duplicated. Firefighters will be extinguishing controlled fires within the home.
What can we expect?
On June 9th beginning at 8:00 a.m., residents can expect to smell and see smoke in the area of 1919 W. Jefferson. There will also be times where residence might see fire in the residence of 1919 W. Jefferson. On the days prior to the training, Boise Fire Instructors will be in the neighborhood preparing the property. Please feel free to stop by and talk with us.
Why 1919 W. Jefferson?
The property owner has graciously agreed to allow the fire department to train on this property, which had already been slated for destruction and removal.
